At Ortho Networks, Inc. our mission is to deliver and maintain scalable and reliable computer networks that allow our clients to focus on their core business of orthodontics. It is our belief that we can fulfill this mission through a unique combination of industry vision, practice management expertise and innovative technology.

Todd C. Short - President

Mr. Short is a 1991 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. In 1999, he took his industry experience from a technical sales position at a small computer services company to a large Chicago-based computer reseller. Within that same year he was promoted to Director of Consulting Services after success recruiting qualified engineers and bringing loyal technical services clientele. The impending sale of the Chicago-based company became the impetus for Mr. Short to join college friend Edward Jurinek and start their own consulting firm in 2001. After five years of consulting and engineering for a myriad of clients in the legal, medical and educational fields Mr. Short and Mr. Jurinek formed Ortho Networks, Inc. to pursue a niche clientele that had come to the forefront of their day-to-day business.

Edward R. Jurinek - Vice President of Network Services

Mr. Jurinek began his professional career as a cost accountant for a Chicago-based manufacturer in 1990. As the company became more technically sophisticated, he saw his responsibilities grow to include managing the company's computer network. After realizing his passion for technology, he left the company to become a computer consultant. A contract position at the University of Chicago quickly led to a full-time position as Senior Network Engineer. Always looking to gain knowledge and hone his skills, he teamed up with Todd Short to form their own consulting firm in 2001. The joint venture began to accumulate orthodontic clientele for which his experience and skills were a perfect match.

"The obvious thing to do was focus our attention and go after a business model that was under our noses for several years. For me it's simple, I like technology and I like to help people. At this point, if I wasn't a computer engineer I would be an orthodontist."

Dr. Richard Battistoni

Richard Battistoni completed his dental training in 1985 at Loyola University School of Dentistry where he was an honors orthodontic student. He completed his specialty training in 1987, finishing at the top of his graduate class, and later returned to Loyola as a clinical professor in the department of orthodontics.

As a spokesman for the Chicago Dental Society, Dr. Battistoni has often appeared on television and radio to discuss dental issues. In addition, he is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists.

Dr. William Beam

William Beam graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and completed his dental training in 1997 at the University of Iowa. As a dental student, Dr. Beam received the William F. Kramer Award of Excellence, which honors the top clinician in the class. He received an M.S. in Orthodontics in 1999.

Articles co-authored by Dr. Beam have been published in The American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and the Journal of Dental Research. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. Kathryn Bielik

Dr. Kathryn Bielik is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 1993 she received her Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics from Loyola University, Chicago. Dr. Bielik is active in many professional organizations as a way to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontics and provide superior patient care.

Dr. Bielik’s affiliations include: the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwest Society of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Society, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society.

Dr. Barry Booth

Dr. Barry Booth has been a practicing orthodontic specialist since 1986. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Specialist Certificate and Master of Science in Orthodontics at the University of Illinois.

From 1988-93, Dr. Booth was part of a surgical orthodontic team with Cook County Hospital treating patients with accident-related injuries and birth defects as well as facial and dental deformities. He has earned the distinction of Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.

Dr. William Petty

Dr. William Petty has practiced in the Chicago area since 1974. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, Dr. Petty received his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Master of Science, and Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics from Loyola University, Chicago. Dr. Petty is one of the few orthodontists to complete of a two-year program with the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment mechanics. His involvement in professional organizations enables him to stay on the leading edge of orthodontic advances and technology.
